We all know that the coffee table is one of the most important pieces in your living room. It’s where you put things like magazines, remote controls, and other items that are used often. The best way to make your coffee table look great is to dress it up with a few accessories! In this blog post we will be giving you 10 tips on how to decorate and dress your coffee table so that it looks incredible no matter what furniture style you have!

1. Keep the display simple

The coffee table is a place to display your favourite accessories. If you have a lot of items, it can be overwhelming and look cluttered to the eye so keep this in mind when decorating! "Dressing" your coffee tables means decorating it with items to make a statement but it's important to remember it has to be functional as well. You need to be able to put your remotes or more importantly wine and coffee down. So keep in mind how much space each item takes up before placing them down - don’t forget about height either as some things can take over the entire surface area if not careful with placement (think vases).

2. Play with proportions

Coffee tables vary in size but most coffee tables have a lower height than the rest of our furniture. This means you can play with proportions and place taller items on the coffee table to make it seem like a piece of furniture in its own right.

The height difference also makes for an interesting visual effect when placing different heights next one another - think about how your eye will travel around this area! That doesn’t mean there are no limitations or rules as well – keep this in mind before decorating so everything flows together nicely without looking cluttered (or worse yet unbalanced). For example don't put too many tall objects near each other because they'll take up more than their fair share

3. Reference your colour scheme

We have talked about mixing and matching styles but to ensure that you tie your room together, make sure to reference your room colour scheme somewhere on the coffee table. This could be done with a candle, tray, book or accessory

4. Mix and match your styles

Did you want to decorate your room in a certain style but didn't have to confidence to do it? Mixing up our style is not just about what we wear but it's important when decorating home spaces that it reflects who you are because that way everything feels more personalised. You can use your coffee table to mix and match your styles. For example, if you have a traditional living room but want to add some modern flair then use the coffee table as an opportunity for it! This is the time to really get creative and show off your personality.

5. Consider your angles

A big thing to consider is the angles of your room, when dressing your coffee table make sure that it looks good from all angles. This is especially important if you have a large room and your coffee table will be in the centre. If it's too cluttered from one angle, then chances are that someone sitting on another sofa or chair won't even see what they're looking for! It can also make things look messy so take this into account when deciding how to decorate - keep everything neat with minimal items per surface area. This means not only considering where people might sit around your living space while enjoying some TV together after dinner; but think about what it looks like when you are entering the room.

6. Organise with trays

Bird Mirror Tray

Trays like the Bird Mirror Tray shown above are a great way to add some flare to your coffee table and organise your space. They can be used to hold remotes, magazines, candles or plants! The best part about adding a tray is that they come in so many different styles so there's one out there that will be your perfect fit no matter what style of coffee table you have. Trays are also a great way to add some height and dimension whilst keeping your coffee table from looking too cluttered. They're the perfect addition if you want something with more of an elevated feel or just need somewhere to put all those remotes without them getting lost under everything on top - it'll make things look neater instantly!

7. Stack your reading material

Books and magazines are a great way to decorate and dress your coffee table. Stacking your reading material in a neat pile is not only practical but it also looks great. It's the perfect way to show off your interests and hobbies while still keeping things organised! Plus you can also use them as an extra surface to place your candles or trinkets.

8. Add some greenery

Adding flowers or some greenery to your coffee table is a great way to add life to the space. Not only does it look beautiful, but also adds a fresh scent and can help you relax in your living room! The best part is that there are so many options for greenery – from succulents or cacti (which require very little care) all way up through ferns which need more attention like watering every few days  — ‍you'll be able keep them alive with just some effort on behalf of yours truly.

However, if you're not a lover of real plants, you can always opt for faux plants. They're a great way to add some life and colour without the hassle of caring for them. The best part about faux plants is that they come in all shapes, sizes and colours so you can find your perfect match! If your living room has more than just coffee table space then it's worth considering getting two different types - like succulents on top with cacti below or ferns at eye level while flowers are placed lower down. This will help create an interesting design element as well give each plant its own little spot.

9. Style both levels

Some coffee tables have two or more levels, styling these levels is important. If you have a lower level, then it might be used for storage and so this is where your books or magazines can go. The higher surface area should ideally house any decorative objects such as plants or candles but make sure that these items are not so big or too close together that they obstruct anyone's view of the TV or each other. If there are two levels to the table top itself - think about what each one will look like when someone walks into that room; if they're both cluttered with items from all angles (as mentioned before) people won't know where to put their coffee or wine!

10. Add a personal touch

Add a personal touch to your living space by adding an item with sentimental value such as a personal photo or family heirloom, it could also mean adding candles with scents you love. This is a great way to really put your own stamp on your coffee table decoration.
